Our story

We built a brand. There was nowhere to get a real score.

So we built the one we needed — honest, fast, and affordable enough for the brands the big firms ignore.

We launched a product we believed was better for the planet — and then tried to prove it.

What we found was a broken market. A credible lifecycle assessment from a name-brand firm ran into the tens of thousands of dollars and took months. The affordable alternative was a wall of labels that sounded green and meant nothing: “eco,” “natural,” “sustainable.” None of it answered the only question that matters — how good is this product, actually, for the environment?

We were stuck in the gap that swallows almost every honest brand: too small for a six-figure consultant, too serious to slap on a meaningless sticker.

But we weren’t starting from zero. We’d spent years measuring carbon for a living — in the most heavily regulated markets on earth, where a number isn’t a marketing claim, it’s a filing you defend in front of a regulator who is paid to tear it apart.

So we built the thing we couldn’t find. A real environmental score, grounded in public science, delivered fast, priced for the brands that actually need it — with a certificate and a label you can stand behind.

No gimmicks. No fluff. A number you can defend — on the same products people put in their cart every day.

Why we can do this

We’ve measured carbon where getting it wrong has consequences.

Long before Carbon Sight, our team built lifecycle models across an enormous range of materials and technologies — and stood behind every one of them inside the world’s strictest regulated carbon markets. That’s not a tagline. It’s the discipline the whole platform is built on.

100s
of materials and feedstocks modeled, end to end
100s
of technologies and production processes mapped
10,000s
of distinct material-and-process combinations carrying a defensible carbon number

Hundreds of inputs times hundreds of processes is tens of thousands of real, sourced combinations — each one the kind of analysis a regulator would accept. We brought that same standard to the products on your shelf.

The standard we hold

Defended before regulators.
Now built for your brand.

In regulated carbon markets, you don’t get to wave your hands. Every assumption is challenged, every factor needs a public source, and the number has to survive scrutiny from people whose job is to find the flaw. We’ve done that, repeatedly. Carbon Sight applies that exact bar to consumer products — so the score on your certificate is one you could defend in any room.

“We built a brand and went looking for an honest way to prove it was better. There wasn’t one we could afford. So we built it — the score we wished someone had handed us.”
Jeff Welch — Founder, Carbon Sight

Who we build for

The brands the big firms priced out.

We serve the founders, indie labels, and growing product companies who can’t justify $40,000 for a single SKU — and shouldn’t have to, just to prove what they make is better.

Indie & emerging brands

A real score, not a sticker

A defensible carbon number and a certificate for the price of a sample run — not a consulting engagement.

Founders & makers

Proof for your packaging

A label and a verification link your customers can actually trust — ready for your packaging, your shelf, or your site.

Growing product lines

Scale when you’re ready

Start with one SKU at $99. Certify the whole catalog when you grow into it. Same engine, same standard, every step.

The principle that runs the whole company

If a number can’t be traced to a free public source, it doesn’t go on a Carbon Sight certificate.
No commercial databases anyone has to pay to inspect. No carbon offsets papering over the real number. No marketing fluff. Just the math, in the open, on every product we certify.
